Are We ASHAMED of the GOSPEL??

Just had to jot down some quick thoughts….have we as Christians become “ashamed” of the GOSPEL? Or…does the Gospel just not feed our “FLESHLY” senses of touch, feel, taste, in the natural? Are we bored with the Gospel, so much so that our mind has to create something so much more complicated so that it either feeds our vanity or draws men to US instead of to JESUS? In our inability to hear God for ourselves, have we built “works of our hands” or IDOLS that will feed our need to actually SEE or TOUCH or FEEL something in the natural, verses simply BELIEVING in things that are not seen? In this have we become…”FAITH-LESS”? Are we intermingling the things of the natural world…even mysticism, sorcery, magic….in order to “MANIFEST” something that even though we can SEE it, or feel it, it is NOT of GOD? Again I will ask the question….ARE we ASHAMED of the GOSPEL? Is it not enough that we have to ADD TO IT…a sort of JESUS ++ ministry? Do we add philosophies and traditions of men? Are we teaching and preaching then…ANOTHER GOSPEL?

When I start to hear that the SIMPLICITY of the GOSPEL is simply just NOT ENOUGH in “today’s culture” and that we need MORE…that we need to build or manufacture or teach something different in order to get people to simply “BELIEVE in JESUS” and allow HIS most powerful testimony to be enough for SALVATION, I would have to call us…a “FAITH-LESS” generation. A generation of “DOUBTING THOMAS’s”….who believe ONLY because they see something in the natural.

My BIBLE SAYS in Romans 1:16 “For I am NOT ASHAMED of the GOSPEL of CHRIST: for IT is the POWER of GOD unto SALVATION to EVERY ONE that BELIEVETH; to the Jew first, and also to the GREEK”. Could it be that the problem is NOT that the GOSPEL is POWER-LESS, but the PROBLEM really lies in the age old question……”DO YOU BELIEVE??” The verses in Romans continue to expound on it…Romans 1:17 says, “For therein is the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD revealed from FAITH to FAITH: as IT IS WRITTEN, The just shall LIVE BY FAITH”.

Do we have ENOUGH FAITH to BELIEVE that by PREACHING the GOSPEL….it is enough STILL in this DAY to bring men to their knees in REPENTANCE…which is where all CONVERSION and TRANSFORMATION…and DISCIPLESHIP starts. John 8:31 says, Then said Jesus to those Jews which BELIEVED on him, “IF ye CONTINUE in MY WORD, then are ye MY DISCIPLES INDEED; 32 An ye shall KNOW the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall MAKE you FREE.”

ALL REVIVALS START with REPENTANCE and BELIEF in the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST!
